Amazon India will no longer be offering refunds on specific electronic devices that include tablets, laptops, desktops and cameras that were purchased on or after May 11. Instead, buyers will only be able to avail a replacement for the device. This is only eligible for products that are fulfilled by Amazon. Further, buyers will have only a 10-day time period during which they can apply for replacements.
On its page stating the return policy, the company states, “All tablets, laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras and camera lenses that are fulfilled by Amazon and purchased on or after 11th May 2016 are eligible for a replacement only policy and will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged product, you will be eligible for a free replacement.” Amazon had announced a similar policy for mobile phones purchased on its website back in February. Further, large appliances and furniture are also not eligible for replacements.
Amazon's Kindle readers and accessories are still eligible for refunds. However, buyers will need to apply for it within seven days of receiving the product(s). Once the seven-day period passes, buyers will only be able to return the device if it is faulty.
