Alleged HTC 10 listing shows chamfered edges, USB-Type C port

Large chamfered edges, a USB Type-C port and a 12MP UltraPixel camera at the back.

In a rather queer development, replacement shells of the upcoming HTC 10 smartphone surfaced online, giving us a clearer look at the phone’s design. A website in China lists the back shell in two colours – silver and black. Going by the images, the phone is likely to have sizeable chamfered edges, comparably larger than the ones on previous phones to give it a more rounded look. The upcoming smartphone from HTC has been leaked multiple times in the past, but the latest leaked images give us the best look at the smartphone’s design. HTC will announce the smartphone on April 12.

If the leaked images are true, it further confirms that HTC will essentially be re-using the same design, used for the last three years. The brushed metal unibody design will have two horizontal antennas running across the back, and feature a USB Type-C port. The HTC 10 is rumoured to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 5.1-inch 2K display, 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. HTC might use an LCD 5 display panel on it, while a few also suggest an AMOLED panel. We also saw the device reportedly top the AnTuTu synthetic benchmark, a few days back.

The upcoming HTC 10 is supposed to house a 12MP UltraPixel camera. Company officials have already claimed that it will be a “very compelling camera”. Previous rumours suggest that the smartphone might sport a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 3000mAh sealed-in battery pack. The HTC 10 is more likely to come with Android Marshmallow out of the box, with a new version of the Sense UI layered on top.
