Why A18 chip for the entire iPhone 16 lineup?
Apple’s recent WWDC was mainly about AI and the tech giant was late to the AI party. However, Apple fans were waiting eagerly for AI to be announced for their iPhones. But, there was a bummer. For iPhones, Apple Intelligence was announced only for the models running on the A18 chipsets, which means only iPhone 15 Pro supports Apple Intelligence yet. Now, to power all iPhone 16 models with its new AI features, Apple could use this chipset in them.
Apple Intelligence needs a high-powered chip to handle AI features directly on the device. Right now, only the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max can use Apple Intelligence. Apple likely wants to ensure all future iPhones have the necessary power for advanced machine learning and AI tasks.
