Airtel, Vodafone launch Rs. 129 unlimited BBM usage plans

Telecom operators Airtel and Vodafone have launched fixed fee-based plans, allowing unlimited usages of the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) services to their subscribers.

Vodafone’s ‘Go BBM’ plan, slated to be launched this week, is available for both pre-paid and post-paid customers. The pre-paid customers can avail the Go BBM plan for Rs. 5 per day or Rs. 129 per month. The Vodafone post-paid customers can get the Go BBM plan at a fixed monthly rental of Rs. 129. To activate the service, subscribers can send SMS ACT BBM129 to 144 / 111 or call Vodafone Care from their mobile phone.

Additionally, Vodafone is offering one year of unlimited access to BBM service (from the date of purchase) to subscribers, who purchase a BlackBerry Curve 8520 or BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone by the end of February 2012 as part of an introductory offer.

Airtel, however, is offering the Rs. 129 unlimited BBM service plan only to its post-paid customers. The Airtel plan also includes 300 local and national SMS to BlackBerry handset user. To subscribe the service, the Airtel customers on BlackBerry can call 121 or walk-in to their nearest Airtel postpaid activation help-desk.
