Aircel will start taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S from November 18. The telecom operator has already announced launching the long-awaited device in India on November 25. However, there is no official word on the price yet. Reports suggest the 16GB variant of the iPhone 4S is expected to be priced at nearly Rs. 40,000, while the high-end 64GB variant is likely to be priced above Rs. 50,000.
Aircel on its official Facebook page announced:

Airtel, the other telecom operator hosting the iPhone 4S, has not yet disclosed its plans regarding the launch of the iPhone 4S. However, reports suggest Airtel will also launch the device very soon, perhaps on the same day Aircel is launching the device. The iPhone 4S comes to India approximately a month after Apple launched the device in the U.S.

The iPhone 4S’ India launch comes in the backdrop of battery issues faced by several iPhone 4S users in the U.S. Apple recently released iOS 5.0.1 update to fix the battery issues. The update is supposed to have various improvements and bug fixes to the platform, however across all iOS devices.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Apple is likely to discontinue 16GB and 32GB variants of the iPhone 4 in India once the iPhone 4S is launched. Apple is unlikely to do same with its iPhone 3GS. Apple’s reported plan to launch the refurbished iPhone 4 in India is also creating a lot of buzz. According to BGR India, the refurbished iPhone 4 is now available in India for Rs. 22,500.
