HIGHLIGHTS

Xiaomi is reportedly trying to work out a 7500mAh battery with 100-watt charging.

It is also rumoured to be working on a 7000mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging.

Its competitors also like OnePlus and Oppo, are also reportedly developing devices with higher-capacity batteries.

Xiaomi might be working on a new technology that will equip its future smartphones with batteries even bigger than 6000mAh. Xiaomi has always been one of those brands that roll out very unexpected technologies in smartphones. If media reports are to be believed, the Chinese smartphone brand is trying to build its smartphones with a 7000mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging and a 7500mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging.

As per leakster Digital Chat Station, who took to Weibo to share this, Xiaomi is considering several fast charging solutions for various battery capacities. The company is reportedly developing a 5000mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging support and a 5500mAh battery with 100-watt charging capability, which can fully charge in just 18 minutes. And it is not stopping here.

The company is also rumoured to be testing a 6000mAh battery with 120-watt charging that could reach a full charge in 34 minutes. Further, it is also reportedly trying to build a 6500mAh battery paired with 100-watt fast charging, capable of reaching a full charge in 30 minutes. Next, it might be also trying to work out a 7500mAh battery with 100-watt charging, which could fully charge in 63 minutes, and a 7000mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging, potentially charging in just 49 minutes.

As of now, most Xiaomi phones feature 5,000mAh batteries. The recently launched Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and Redmi K70 Ultra, pack 5,500mAh batteries and 120W fast charging. They can charge from zero to 100 percent in just 24 minutes.

And it is not just Xiaomi that is trying to get ahead in the race of building bigger batteries. Its competitors like OnePlus and Oppo, are also reportedly developing devices with higher-capacity batteries. OnePlus recently launched the Ace 3 Pro with a 6100mAh battery, while the BBK subsidiaries are testing prototypes with next-generation silicon materials.
