6.44-in Xiaomi Mi Max launched in India, price starts at Rs. 14,999
The Snapdragon 650-powered variant with 3GB RAM is priced at Rs. 14,999, while the Snapdragon 652-powered variant with 4GB RAM costs Rs. 19.999
Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max, its largest device yet in India. The phone is available in two variants, one with Snapdragon 650 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and the other with Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The two devices are priced at Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 19,999 respectively. The first flash sale is on Mi.com on July 6, following which the device will be available on open sale from July 13.
As the name suggests, the phone features a large 6.44-inch Full HD display and a 4850mAh battery. To make the phone easier to use with one hand, it comes with a one-handed mode. At the back is a 16MP camera with phase detection autofocus, while at the front is a 5MP cameras. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow, and sports a fingerprint sensor located at the back of the device. The Xiaomi Mi Max is available in Silver, Gold and Dark Grey colour variants. Mi Fans will also get three months of subscription to Hungama Movies and a one-year subscription to Hungama Music when they purchase the device.
Xiaomi has also unveiled MIUI 8, the next generation ROM for its devices. Some of the improved features of the new version includes a revamped gallery with video editing tools. Users will now be able to trim videos and add filters or soundtracks in real time. MIUI 8 also lets users take scrolling screenshots in which users will be able to take screenshots of entire web pages instead of just what is visible on the screen. Further Xiaomi has added a feature called Quick Ball that lets users add up to five shortcuts. The calculator has also been improved and now sports inbuilt convertors for currency, weight, temperature and more. Further, the company also added a new feature called Dual Apps, that lets users have two of the same apps on phone, but with different accounts.
