iPhones in India are finally getting 5G support, thanks to the new software update from Apple. The iOS 16.2 update has been rolled out to iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. So, users with these models need to simply update their device and enable 5G from the device settings. However, there are still some things they need to know before they get to enjoy 5G on their iPhones.
1. Firstly, users have to download and install the recent iOS update by going to Settings> General> Software Update.
2. After the update is done, users have to activate 5G connectivity from Settings> Mobile Data> Mobile Data Options> Voice and Data> 5G or 5G Auto.
Now, for 5G to run on your iPhone, your area should have 5G coverage and your carrier should support 5G.
5G services in India were launched in early October during the first day of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. 5G services were kickstarted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the first day of IMC 2022, with Airtel being the first network provider to roll out its 5G services in the country. Airtel was followed by Jio a few days later. However, Vi the third-largest network provider in India has not announced its plans for a 5G rollout yet.
Airtel offers 5G in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Panipat, Gurugram, Guwahati and Patna. Whereas, Jio 5G is available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Varanasi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Nathdwara and Gujarat.
