The new android version will bring in more privacy and security features

Android 14 will support Satellite calling

Android 14 is now the talk of the town and is expected to launch at Google I/O 2023. Last year the predecessor Android 13 was released by Google and the major updates were based on performance, privacy, security and certain user customisations. It is believed that the incoming Android 14 will be similar with some crucial new feature highlights.

Android 14 will be available to all users by the end of this year and there is also the opportunity of accessing the early build of the OS in order to understand what new things it brings to the table.

1) Customisable fonts and scaling

Android has always been ahead of everyone when it comes to customisations as per the user. Fonts can now be even bigger than what was available in Android 13. The font can be scaled to 200% instead of 130% and also application of non-linear font scaling will also be available in Android 14.

2) Changes in privacy and security

Android 14 will restrict the installation of any app that hasn't been updated for the longest time possible. So, this would help secure your device as some old apps might just turned out to be a malware app for your phone.

3) Kill third-party task managers

Now, Android can be considered as a mature operating system. Earlier, the third party task managers would do harm in the sense by making Android work much harder than what was necessary. But now the Android 14 version will allow to kill or actually restrict these task managers by not allowing the APIs used by the third party apps too much control over system resources.

4) Separate sliders for the ringtone and notification volume

Majorly all Android phones at the moment have the same volume slider for notification and calls. But according to the reveals, the Android 14 will bring in different sliders for the two. This would just increase the customisation factor of Android phones.

5) Satellite connectivity support

Android 14 will support satellite connectivity which would finally allow users to connect via satellite during an emergency. This is similar to that of iPhones, but finally it is available for Android users as India majorly has Android users in huge numbers.

So, these were just five essential features that Android 14 is bringing in, there are a lot more to consider as well. Talking about its release date, the first beta version 'Beta 1' is already out for testing by the users.

Then it is supposed to be followed by a number of beta versions. The final version is calculated to be released by the third quarter if this year viz. around August or September.
