Another Moto E rival, the Intex Aqua Curve Mini with a 4.5-inch display and Android 4.4 KitKat OS has been launched for Rs 7,290. The company stated that the affordable smartphone is aimed at students and young professionals in tier 2 and 3 cities of India.
The Intex Aqua Curve Mini is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) with dual standby device. It comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution. It has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box. It has 4GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.
The Intex Aqua Curve Mini has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera for video calling. Connectivity options included are 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. It has a 1500mAh battery and is available in red/black color.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head, Mobiles said, "Within one week of the launch of our first Aqua smartphone on KitKat OS, we have introduced another Aqua smartphone with KitKat OS in the market. Available at a very affordable price, Aqua Curve mini is a stylish and chic smartphone equipped with all the advanced features which will surely strike a chord with the new age user."
Intex has launched the Aqua i14 and Aqua N15 Android 4.4 KitKat based smartphones last month for Rs 7090 and Rs 6,090 respectively. The devices compete with Motorola Moto E, Karbonn Titanium S99 and Micromax Canvas Unite 2 in this price segment. Intex is also planning to launch a Mozilla Firefox OS based device called Cloud FX in August.
