Spice has launched Spice Stellar 445 3G-enabled smartphone for Rs 5,299. The smartphone will be available across retail stores from 1st week on July.
The Spice Stellar 445 has a 4-inch WVGA display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. It has a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and runs the now outdated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It has a 3.2MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera for video calling. It has 512MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot. Spice is also offering 2GB of free cloud storage on the smartphone.
Connectivity options included are 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS and dual-sim (3G + 2G) with dual standby. Spice has also added support for multiple Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bangla, Telugu, etc on the phone. It comes pre-loaded with popular apps like Swiftkey keyboard, Whatsapp and Olx. The Stellar 445 has a 1500 mAh battery and is available in Black color.
T M Ramakrishnan, CEO – Devices, Spice Retail Ltd stated, “This is the first 10.16 cm smartphone from Spice with a Quad Core processor that enables multitasking and faster speed. Through the multiple Indian languages option in our products we intend to reach out to the masses with the readiness of their choice of language in their mobiles. The idea to empower every Indian through their smartphones has been our engine of growth and we have been working towards it by proliferating data services through our 3G enabled handsets.”
The Spice Stellar 445 competes with budget devices like the Moto E, Karbonn Titanium S99 and Intex Aqua N15. However these devices have an advantage as they run on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS instead of the outdated Android 4.3.
