HP announces the Elitebook Folio 1020 and the Elitebook Folio 1020 SE

The company has rolled out two new upgraded versions of the Elitebook Folio laptops at HP Innovation Day.

HP today, launched its PC and print line-up for 2015 and has rolled out some important products such as the Elitebook Folio 1020, an array of world’s thinnest and lightest notebooks, a range of new PCs designed to support Windows 10 and much more.

 

The Elitebook Folio 1020 family, consisting of the HP Elitebook 1020 and the Elitebook 1020 SE (Special Edition) come with a thickness of 15.7 mm and weighs around 1 kg. The Special Edition is designed with magnesium-lithium alloy and reusable carbon fibre that makes the notebook so light in weight.

 

Both the HP Elitebook 1020 and the Elitebook 1020 SE come with a high resolution 12.5-inch diagonal Quad-HD (QHD) display. You also get the option of a touchscreen in the Elitebook 1020. Also, these Elitebooks are the first ones to come with the HP Premium Keyboard. The notebooks are also loaded with a 720p webcam, speakers featuring HD Audio with DTS Studio Sound and HP Noise Reduction software. 


Elitebook 1020 SE (Special Edition)

According to HP, the two devices are designed keeping enterprise mobility in mind, with up to 9 hours of battery life. Supported by the latest Intel Core-M Processor, these notebooks are expected to deliver both speed and near-silent operation with a fanless design and SSD storage. HP also claims the devices to be designed to pass the military-grade (MIL-STD 810G) testing – drop shocks, exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity and high pressure.

Both the devices are loaded with the HP Client Management Solutions, an optional LANDesk and the Inter VPro technology, which HP says, will enable the devices to easily integrate and deploy in an enterprise IT environment. The notebooks also include HP’s exclusive enterprise class security with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), pre-boot authentication, fingerprint reader and the HP Sure Smart self-healing BIOS.
