Microsoft is upgrading the Surface Laptop Studio, the Surface Laptop Go 2, and the Surface Go 3.

Microsoft is looking to use the Intel Core i7-13800H chip from the "Raptor Lake" family.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 is also getting a refresh, moving to the Intel Core i5-1235U chip from the Alder Lake family.

Microsoft is planning to launch the new models in its Surface series of devices and laptops very soon. The company had earlier announced the launch date for the same, which is September 21. The tech giant is reportedly giving their upcoming devices a whole lot of upgrades with some more modern chips, as usual. Specifically, it is making changes to the Surface Laptop Studio, the Surface Laptop Go 2, and the Surface Go 3. A Dutch-based publication has revealed the specifications of these devices. Let’s have a look.

According to WinFuture, Microsoft is looking to use the Intel Core i7-13800H chip from the Raptor Lake family, which provides a performance boost with six high-performance and eight energy-saving cores clocked up to 5.0 gigahertz. It is tipped to come with 16 or 32 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes or one terabyte of SSD storage. Microsoft is also adding more USB Type-C ports, but the design remains mostly the same. The new model features a 14.4-inch PixelSense display with 2400 x 1600 pixels and a 3:2 format.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 is also getting a refresh, moving to the Intel Core i5-1235U chip from the Alder Lake family, which has two high-end cores with speeds up to 4.4 gigahertz and eight energy-saving cores. It will be available in versions with 128 or 256 gigabytes of SSD capacity and eight gigabytes of RAM.

As for the Surface Go 3, it's getting updated as well, though Microsoft hasn't confirmed whether it will have a new name like Surface Go 4. Unlike some expectations, it won't have an ARM chip but will feature the Intel N200 quad-core processor from the "Alder Lake N" series, clocked up to 3.7 gigahertz. It will always come with eight gigabytes of RAM, and the 4 GB model will likely be discontinued. Storage options for the new Surface Go will be 64, 128, or 256 gigabytes.
