Microsoft has started rolling out invites for a “special event” to be held in New York on September 21. The Redmond giant will most likely present its new Surface devices at the event and could also reveal new features coming to Windows 11 later this year.
More details regarding the exact time when you will be able to stream the Microsoft Surface event live from your home should follow later.
On the hardware side of things, we could witness the new Surface Laptop Studio 2, Surface Laptop Go 3, and Surface Go 4.
The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is expected to be Microsoft’s most powerful PC. A Geekbench listing hinted at up to Intel Core i7-13800H, 64GB RAM, and NVIDIA RTX 4060 Laptop graphics for the high-end variants.
The Surface Laptop Go 3 is expected to be a modest upgrade over the Surface Laptop Go 2 both in terms of design and specs. It is rumoured to be powered by 12th-generation Intel processors paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for all variants. The Surface Go 4 will allegedly target business and education customers. It is expected to be powered by the ARM-based Intel N200 processor.
Microsoft is reportedly working on making future Surface devices easier to repair and we could hear more about the initiative at the upcoming event.

When it comes to software, Microsoft has recently been placing a significant focus on AI. We anticipate that the company will talk about the numerous AI enhancements it has been developing for both Surface devices and Windows 11.
Microsoft has already made an announcement regarding the introduction of the Windows Copilot feature to enhance productivity workflows in Windows 11 this upcoming fall. This feature is built upon the same AI technology that Microsoft has successfully employed for Bing Chat. Users will be able to directly ask the Windows Copilot to conduct web searches, launch applications, perform updates checks, adjust Windows settings, and more.
