Lenovo has launched its new Legion Y740 and Legion Y540 gaming laptops in India.
The laptops come equipped with the 9th Gen Intel processors and Nvidia RTX graphic card.
The Lenovo Legion Y740 and the Legion Y540 are priced starting at Rs 1,29,990 and Rs 69,990 respectively.
Lenovo has launched its new Legion Y740 and Legion Y540 gaming laptops at an event today, in India. The new laptops improve upon its predecessor in terms of hardware, but there aren’t any major changes in terms of design. Alongside laptops, the company has also unveiled new desktops, displays and accessories that are aimed at gamers. The new Legion laptops feature 9th Gen Intel Core processors and come equipped with Nvidia RTX graphics card. They are touted to offer better battery life over their predecessors and should be able to sustain lower temperatures while handling resource heavy tasks.
Lenovo Legion Y740 specs
The Lenovo Legion Y740 is built using machined aluminum and features fully customisable RGB keyboard lighting. It comes equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display that has 500nits of brightness and 144Hz refresh rate. The display supports Dolby Vision HDR as well. Powered by a 9th Gen Intel Core i7-95750H processor that can clock speeds of up to 4.5 GHz, the laptop features 16GB DDR4 memory, which can be upgraded up to 32GB. A 6GB dedicated Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU handles gaming and other graphic intensive computations and a 1TB M.2 TB SSD
It’s no surprise that there’s no optical disk drive on the laptop but one will get it running on a 64-bit copy of Windows 10 Home, along with Office Home & Student 2019. The Legion Y740 also features an HD 720p webcam and is backed by a 3 cell 57Watt hour battery that is said to deliver about five hours of usage on a single charge. Connectivity options on the device includes a KILLER 2×2 AC Wi-Fi, along with Bluetooth. There’s one USB 3.1 Gen2, two USB 3.1 Gen1, one HDMI, one ethernet (RJ45), one Mini DP and a Type-C port (TBT, DP, USB3.1).
Lenovo Legion Y540 specs
The Lenovo Legion Y540 is a less premium version of the Legion Y740. It is made out of Plastic PC-ABS but features a similar 144Hz refresh rate for its 15.6-inch Full HD display with 300 nits of brightness. It is powered by a 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H processor that is touted to touch speeds of up to 4.5GHz and the laptop is equipped with 16GB DDR4 memory that can be bumped up to 32GB. There’s also a 1TB M.2 SSD for storage and a 6GB Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU.
The laptop is backed by a 57Watt hour 3 Cell battery that is touted to again deliver up to five hours of backup in a single charge. The Legion Y540 doesn’t get full RGB backlighting for its keyboard but has white colour backlit keys. One will get a copy of 64-bit Windows 10 Home and Office home & Student 2019 preinstalled on the device.
