Following the global unveil of the HP Omen 14, we now have the brand new HP Omen 16 in India. Featuring the Intel 14th Gen Core i7 processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070.
One of the standout features of the OMEN 16 laptops is the Tempest Cooling Technology. We tested the HP Omen 16 last year and it performed well and aced most of our tests. While maintaining a stealthy design, the gaming laptop managed to provide good FPS in demanding games and now it has been refreshed for 2024.

The laptop boasts a powerful 14th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. This 20-core, 28-thread processor with a massive 33 MB L3 cache is designed for high-performance computing, making it ideal for demanding tasks and gaming.
In terms of graphics, it features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with a maximum power of 130W. This graphics card is equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 dedicated memory. Memory-wise, it can handle up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 MHz RAM (2 x 16 GB), offering lightning-fast load times and seamless multitasking capabilities. With two memory slots, you have room for expansion.
Storage options aren’t specifically mentioned but expect PCIe Gen4 SSD support right from the base model. The laptop runs on Windows 11 Home, providing access to the latest features and functionality, although specific features may vary depending on the edition. The 16-inch WQXGA display offers sharp visuals with options for OLED screens, 500 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
Wireless connectivity includes Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 (2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring fast and reliable connections. It is also backward compatible with prior 802.11 Wi-Fi specifications. For connectivity, it offers multiple USB Type-A ports, Thunderbolt 4 with USB Type-C, and HDMI 2.1, providing versatility for various peripherals and external displays. But it’s not just about the internal specs; HP has also revamped the laptop’s design.
Moreover, the OMEN 16 incorporates a newly designed airflow system as well, its square venting design enhances air circulation, allowing for better intake and exhaust. Moreover, the redesigned top hinge trunk avoids obstructing the rear venting, contributing to improved thermal performance, which seems like a significant improvement.
The OMEN 16 Laptop will have a starting price of Rs 1,60,999. and it will be available through online and offline outlets. Last year’s model was a pretty sorted machine so the expectations from the HP Omen 16 2024
