And don’t miss the new kid, Tecno Megabook T1, a remote work champ with great battery life and performance. Each one’s got its own style in this laptop party – but there’s only one true hero to rule them all!
Price: Rs. 70,000
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i packs a punch with its 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H Processor, balancing efficiency and power, perfect for both daily tasks and intense apps. It runs smoothly on Windows 11 Home with 16 GB LPDDR5X memory, great for multitasking, and has a hefty 512 GB SSD for all your storage needs. Its star feature? A stunning 14-inch OLED screen with HDR 500, showing off colors and details that creatives will love. The 1080P FHD camera is a win for video calls, and the long-lasting 60Wh battery is ideal for those always on the move. Its stylish Storm Grey design, backlit keyboard, and the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tech add to its charm.
Personally, I love this laptop. Lenovo has a habit of outdoing themselves. I know they are a brand known for imbuing their laptops with high build quality and performance. But this time the Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i comes with a lot of new features. The inclusion of two thunderbolt ports is the first one. It is really a life saver. It doesn’t matter what kind of accessory you wish to connect to this laptop. Next is the OLED display and it is extremely good. It has good brightness, great sRGB and DCI-P3 colour space coverage and decent colour accuracy.
Last but not the least, a battery life of more than 12 hours, yes you heard that right, is what solidifies Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i’s as the winner of the Digit Zero1 Award for the best Mainstream laptop of 2023. And its excellent price tag also helps it snatch this year’s Digit Best Buy award in the same category as well.
Runner-up: Tecno Megabook T1 (Buy now)
Price: Rs 57,999
The Tecno Megabook T1, a notable contender in the 2023 budget laptop market and runner-up for the Digit Zero1 Award, combines performance and design in a sleek, portable package. It features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with high brightness and decent accuracy, housed in a thin 14.8mm, 1.48 kg frame. Powered by an 11th generation Intel Core i7, with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD, it offers robust performance for a variety of tasks. Its 70Wh battery supports 65W fast charging, enhancing its efficiency. With additional features like a fingerprint scanner, 2MP webcam, DTS sound speakers, AI noise-cancelling microphones, and multiple connectivity options, the Tecno Megabook T1 manages to stand out but is unable to leave a mark.

In my personal opinion, the Intel 11th Gen Core i7 seems to be the bottleneck here. Meanwhile, Tecno Megabook T1’s competition easily benefits from better multitasking and efficiency thanks to E-cores introduced in the Intel 12th Gen chips. As an overall package though, all the laptop’s strengths come together to give us a mainstream laptop, which is worthy of the Runner-up title in the Mainstream laptop category in the Digit Zero1 awards 2023. Considering this is TECNO’s first try at making a laptop, it is not very impressive. I am pretty sure future iterations of the laptop can easily surpass this bottleneck.
