The Best Performing Gaming Laptop (₹151K – ₹250K) category is at the very edge of the premium gaming laptop segment. We saw the most number of nominations in this category. We also saw the most varied number of configurations in this category, ranging from Intel Core i5 processors to Core i9s and RTX 4050s to RTX 4080s! However, it ultimately came down to two laptops.

Digit Zero1 Award Winner: HP OMEN 16-wf0059TX (Buy now)

The HP OMEN 16 was without a doubt the best performing gaming laptop in this segment, with the highest overall synthetic and real-world gaming performance scores. The laptop features a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700HX paired with the NVIDIA RTX 4080 laptop GPU; one of two laptops in this category featuring that GPU. Considering that the rest of the laptops in the category mostly featured 4060s or 4070s, the HP OMEN 16 already had a leg-up on the competition. Naturally, the RTX 4080 outclassed the 4060s and even the odd 4050. A few 4070s did manage to give it some pause, but ultimately, the HP OMEN 16 came out on top. The HP OMEN 16 especially aced all of our real-world gaming benchmarks and ran all recent AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077 – Phantom Liberty, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage with ease.

Ultimately, that’s what truly determines a laptop’s gaming performance, how well it performs in real-world benchmarks. The laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM, which is ideal for any and all gaming needs; more is always nice, but this will suffice. The 12GB of VRAM on the 4080 is also fantastic for high-resolution gaming if that’s something you’re looking for. Considering all of the above, the HP OMEN 16 is our Digit Zero1 Award Winner for the best performing gaming laptop (151K – 250K)!

Digit Best Buy Award Winner: Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8 (Buy now)

Price: ₹204,817

he Lenovo Legion Pro 5 was one of those laptops featuring an RTX 4070 that managed to give the HP OMEN 16 a real run for its money. We were expecting the other RTX 4080 laptop in this category to take this spot, so we were surprised by the results ourselves. The Legion Pro 5 managed to get dangerously close to the OMEN 16 in most synthetic and gaming benchmarks, despite having a weaker GPU in the RTX 4070. However, it aced every other performance benchmark, including the SSD benchmarks, the RAM benchmarks, Display, Thermals, and the processor benchmarks, thanks to the 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900HX under the hood.

However, at the end of the day, a gaming laptop is scored based on its gaming performance, and the HP OMEN 16 came out on top. Still, considering how close behind the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 was and its exemplary performance in every other performance metric, the Legion Pro 5 easily grabs not only the Runner-up position, but also our Digit Best Buy Award for offering the best value-for-money in this category.
