Dell brings 8th gen Intel powered XPS 13 to India starting at Rs 84,590
The base model of the laptop will be powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U processor and features a 256GB SSD.
Dell’s new XPS 13 with 8th gen Intel processors has finally landed in India. The prices for the laptop start at Rs 84,590. Besides the new processors, there is no major change as such in terms functionality. The new XPS 13 still features Dell's tried and tested design, which has been around since 2015.
The laptop will be available in 4 variants in India, starting with an Intel Core i5-8250U variant all the way up to an Intel Core i7-8550U variant. The new line of laptops is now available from Dell’s website, Dell exclusive stores, Croma and Reliance Digital.
Mr. Alen Joe Jose, Product Marketing Director, Consumer & Small Business for Dell India said, “The XPS brand is legendary. From innovations in design philosophy using smarter materials to performance-driven sleek design construction, the new XPS 13 is an absolute delight. The addition of Dell Dynamic Power mode with 8th generation Intel core processor is what makes this machine stand out. The XPS leads our ultrabook portfolio, passing on the legacy to more innovations, soon to come.”
The biggest change in the new XPS lineup is the CPU. Dell claims that there is a 44% increase in performance over the last generation with Dell’s dynamic power mode. Intel’s latest 8th gen processors add two more cores to the mix without compromising on battery life. All three 8th gen Intel-powered machines come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB NVMe based SSD. Two of the higher-end machines powered by Intel Core i7-8550U also feature a QHD touchscreen display.
Besides these, Dell will also be selling a new model powered by an Intel Core i7-7560U processor. This machine will feature 16GB of RAM and will be available with 512GB NVMe SSD. This laptop also features Intel’s older Iris 640 graphics in comparison to the Intel UHD graphics other machines feature. All four laptops feature a 60Whr battery.
All four new XPS laptops feature the same aluminum and carbon fiber design we have seen on previous gen Dell XPS laptops. Also, if you are holding your breath for the XPS 13 2-in-1 variant, then you might have to wait for some more time.
