ASUS has launched the ROG GL552 gaming laptop in India. It has several features that may appeal to those who want to game on the go, namely a compact design and innards that can run the latest games comfortably.
The GL552 has an Intel i7 4720HQ quad-core processor along with an NVIDIA GTX 950M GPU that has 2GB VRAM. You get two easily accessible memory slots with 8GB of RAM. Coming to the display, it has a 15.6 Inch Full-HD glare-resistant display, and there’s a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD that gives you ample space for games and movies.
ASUS is claiming that the GL552 excels in terms of audio fidelity, with ASUS’ proprietary SonicMaster technology paired with six genre specific audio presets that make for a supposedly stellar audio experience, but we won’t know for sure till we test it. The laptop features a full-size keyboard (including a number pad) that has backlit keys with adequate travel (1.8mm).
A 1000Mbps ethernet port along with proprietary Gamefirst III technology that optimizes network usage for smoother gaming can enable a better multiplayer experience. The ROG GL552 has three USB 3.0 ports, along with one SD/MMC/MS card slot. Everything is powered by a 4 cell battery.
The Asus ROG GL552 has been launched for for Rs. 70,999, and is available on Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal. The best gaming laptop in terms of performance and portability is still the Razer Blade, but the GL552 seems to be no slouch.
