The modern age is the age of hybridization, and Asus has taken steps to cement that belief, with the 18.4 inch Transformer AiO.
Asus India launched today the ASUS Transformer AiO P1801, an All-In-One PC like no other. The Transformer AIO is capable of running both Android 4.1 and Windows 8, a first of its kind feat. The AIO is an 18.4 inch tablet that essentially docks onto a station, but it does all that with quite a bit of ease.
ASUS Transformer AIO consists of a desktop PC Station with a 3rd generation Intel Core desktop processor for outstanding Windows 8 performance, and a detachable 18.4-inch display with its own NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for use as a self-contained tablet with Android 4.1. When detached from the PC Station, the AiO’s display can be used as two different types of king-size tablets. First, it can be used as a Remote for a desktop thanks to the built in Remote Desktop functionality for easy access to popular productivity and entertainment software on any Windows 8 system. Alternatively, the 18.4-inch display can also be used as a standalone tablet with Android 4.1, thanks to its built-in NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The Asus Transformer AiO has the ability to switch seamlessly between the Android and Windows 8 OS with the push of a button.
The PC Station (dock) has 4 USB 3.0 ports, along with a slot-in DVD drive. There is also a port for standard SD and microSD cards for easy storage and expansion, but the most impressive feature of the AiO happens to be the 2GB of NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M graphics that have been packed into this device.
