Apple has updated the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro with faster 8th-gen and 9th-generation Intel Core processors.

The new laptops start at Rs 1,59,900 and Rs 1,99,900 respectively.

Apple has reportedly made some changes to the keyboard which will reduce the issues users have been facing.

Apple has updated its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with faster 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors. This is the first time we will see eight-core processors in a MacBook Pro. According to Apple, the updated MacBook Pros will deliver “two times faster performance than a quad-core MacBook Pro and 40 percent more performance than a 6-core MacBook Pro”.

“Whether it’s college students mastering a course of study, developers building world-class apps or video editors creating feature films, we’re constantly amazed at what our customers do with their MacBook Pro,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing. “Now with 8-core processors for an incredible performance boost, along with its stunning Retina display, fast storage, all-day battery life and running macOS, MacBook Pro continues to be the world’s best pro notebook and we can’t wait to get it into our customer’s hands to see what they do next.”

But the processor under the hood isn’t the only new improvement to the MacBook Pro. Even though it isn’t mentioned in the official Apple release, The Loop has learned that substantial changes have been made to the keyboard to reduce the problems that users have been facing. Apple is said to have changed the material in the keyboard’s butterfly mechanism to reduce the issues faced by users.

According to the Verge, some of the existing MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models that face keyboard failures will have their keyboards replaced with the new 2019 keyboard found on the newly updated MacBook Pro. Users need to remember that only MacBooks with the third-generation butterfly keyboard can get the updated 2019 keyboard. The third generation Butterfly keyboard is on the 2018 MacBook Pro and the 2018 MacBook Air.

Speaking of the other specifications of the new MacBook Pro, the 13.3-inch variant gets an LED-backlit IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1600 giving it a pixel density of 227 pixels per inch. The 15.4-inch variant gets a LED-backlit IPS display with a resolution of 2880×1800 giving it a pixel density of 220 pixels per inch.

The 13.3-inch variants have storage options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB along with 8GB RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluettoth, and a claimed battery life of 10 hours. The 15.4-inch variants have storage options of 256GB and 512GB along with 16GB RAM, Radeon Pro Graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluettoth, and a claimed battery life of 10 hours. The new laptops with the updated processors start at Rs 159,900 and Rs 199,900 for the 13-inch and 15-inch respectively.
