Lenovo announced the new IdeaPad Pro 5 laptops, and they will be available in 14 and 16-inch variants. These laptops will be powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 7000HS APUs, which will also debut alongside the laptops.
There will also be Intel-based variants of the laptop other than the AMD variants. The IdeaPad Pro 5i 14 and IdeaPad Pro 5i 16 will be sporting Intel processors.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14 offers a good selection of AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS, Ryzen 7 7735HS, and Ryzen 7 7840HS APUs. The exact specifications of these APUs will be revealed at CES 2023 on 3rd January during AMD’s showcase.
The Intel variant of the same laptop has a discrete GPU option, which is not there in the AMD variant. Also, similar to its Intel variant, the AMD variant offers a choice between 2.8K (2280 x 1800) 120Hz and 2.2K (2240 x1400) 60Hz display options. The panels will offer 100% sRGB coverage and are TUV-certified for low blue light emissions.
When it comes to Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 16, it differs from the 14-inch variant in multiple aspects, namely the dimensions, CPU, GPU, and display. It also offers an additional APU option; the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS, apart from the ones already present in the 14-inch variant.
It also has a discrete GPU option. These options include the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 3050. The 16-inch variant also supports Dynamic Display Switch, which allows a direct connection between the display and the GPU. Also similar to its Intel variant, it comes with a 2.5K (2560 x 1600) 120Hz IPS display option.
Both the 14-inch and 16-inch variants offer a larger touchpad and FHD IR webcam with a physical privacy shutter and a dual-microphone array.
