4Home signs Marvell partnership for energy monitoring plug computer
It is reported that Marvell in collaboration with 4Home, has unleashed a miniature energy monitoring Linux based plug computer – better known as 2GHz SheevaPlug. One might wish to make parallel comparisons of this device with Intel’s experimental power sensor. This mini-computer is said to incorporate a smart meter to measure the power consumption from the wall outlet, and thereby allowing you to identify the culprit that blew off your electric bills (due to wasted power, drained out electric bulbs etc.). So, that could save you both time and money invested on buying expensive home automation diagnostic kits. However, there is no word on price for this marvelous gadget from Marvell. This device is expected to sneak into the market by the end of this week and could well become the future tool for monitoring energy usage & efficiency.
