14″ and 17″ additions to the Sony VAIO E Series laptop family
Sony has introduced 2 new models in its VAIO E Series laptop family, also bringing a variety of colours for you to enjoy, from blue and green and pink to boring old black and white. While the E Series family only contained two sizes previously, 15” and 16”, Sony has fleshed out the family with new laptops at either end of the screen spectrum, with 14” and 17” versions. Common specifications include 802.11b/g/n module, 3xUSB ports, eSATA/USB port, Bluetooth 2.0, HDMI output, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The 14” VAIO E laptop (VPCEA1S1E) has a 16:9 aspect and 1600×900 resolution screen, an Intel Core i3-330M 2.13 GHz processor, a 500GB HDD, a DVD writer, and 4GB of DDR3 memory, apart from ATI’s Mobility Radeon HD 5145 discrete DX 10.1 graphics solution with 512MB VRAM. It weighs approximately 2.35 km with the battery.
The 17” VAIO E laptop (VPCEC1S1E) has a 11:6 aspect and 1980×1080 resolution screen, an Intel Core i5-430M 2.26GHz processor, 500GB (up to 1TB) HDD, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a Blu-ray drive, and ATI’s Mobility Radeon HD 5650 discrete DX 11 graphics solution with 1GB VRAM. It weighs approximately 3.3 kg with the battery.

Other Sony-specific features common to both laptops include: WEB/ASSIST/VAIO buttons, Motion Eye camera, stereo audio with Dolby Home Theater v3, and a high-contrast VAIO Display with LED backlight.
