Zync Global Private Limited has announced the launch of a new Android-based tablet, called Z1000. Priced at Rs. 10,990, the Zync Z1000 sports a 9.7-inch multi-touch HD display and a SIM slot for 3G data connectivity and voice calling.

Zync’s Z1000 tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is upgradable to the latest Android v4.1 Jelly Bean. Other notable specifications of the slate are 9.7-inch IPS panel display with a healthy 1024x768p resolution and 1.5GHz Cortex A8 processor coupled with Mali-400 GPU, and 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

The Zync Z1000 has a 0.3MP front camera, 2MP rear camera, 8GB built-in storage and 32GB microSD card slot expandability. It also features a mini HDMI port, two microUSB ports, as well as 3.5mm audio jack. The device supports Bluetooth v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, but not GPS. The Z1000 comes with stereo speakers, a built-in microphone, and a 7,000mAh battery. Zync is also offering one month free subscription for Bigflix with the new slate.

The table also comes with several pre-loaded applications including an Office Suite, Ibibo, BigFlix, Hungama and other social networking websites like Facebook. Moreover, there are a range of other interesting applications like daily horoscopes, Art of Cooking, Bollywood gossips and Your Trading Expert. Read the full specifications of the device here.

“This is our first attempt of launching a tablet with a multi-touch HD display, with a higher screen resolution and face-unlocking feature. As of now, the product is running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but it can be upgraded onto the latest Android 4.1 Jellybean platform in the coming months,” said Ashish Garg, director, Zync Global.

There are very few options in the 10-inch Android-based budget tablets category. The Micromax Funbook Pro sports a 10.1-inch display and runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS straight out of the box. But the Funbook Pro does not have voice calling support.
