Zync launches quad-core Retina Display 9.7-inch tablet at Rs. 13,990

Zync has announced the launch of three tablets in the Indian market – the Dual 7.0, Quad 8.0 and the Quad 9.7 in India for Rs. 5,990, Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 13,990 respectively. All the three tablets run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and offer 3G connectivity via USB dongles. The biggest highlight, is the Quad 9.7, which features a Retina Display with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels, apart from a quad-core processor.

The Zync Quad 9.7 has a 9.7-inch display. We will put the display through its paces to see how it performs with such a high resolution when we get our hands on the device. The tablet has an 8000mAh battery and weighs 603 grams. The Zync Quad 9.7 doesn’t support Bluetooth or feature a SIM card slot, but does have expandable storage via a microSD card slot, as well as Wi-Fi support. It has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Under the hood, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, Mali-400 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage are present on the tablet. The Zync Quad 9.7 is priced at Rs. 13,990.

The Zync Dual 7.0 has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. The tablet has a 3000mAh battery and weighs 313 grams. The tablet doesn’t support Bluetooth but has expandable storage via a microSD card slot and supports Wi-Fi. It has a 2MP rear facing camera and a 0.3MP front facing camera. Under the hood, a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage are present on the device. The Zync Dual 7.0 is priced at Rs. 5,990.

The Zync Quad 8.0 has an (you guessed it) 8-inch display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. The tablet has a 5400mAh battery and weighs 471 grams. The tablet doesn’t support Bluetooth or have a SIM card slot, but offers expandable storage via a microSD card slot, and also supports Wi-Fi. It has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Under the hood, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage are present on the device. It also has the Mali-400 GPU. The Zync Quad 8.0 is priced at Rs. 12,990.

These aren’t the first Jelly Bean powered tablet that we have seen launch in the Indian market, but for the price you pay, the specifications of the Quad 9.7 seem impressive, especially those of the display. However, we would like to put the tablets through their paces before commenting on the performance.
