Zoho launches bug tracking service
Zoho is an online browser-based office suite which is a great alternative to Google Docs, and offers numerous feature that Google Docs is still lacking. Besides a word processor, spreadsheet application, and a presentation application, the Zoho suite contains numerous other applications such as project management, wikis, databases, customer relationship management, chat, mail etc.
Zoho has now launched a new service Zoho BugTracker. It started as a part of Zoho Projects, but due to customer demand has now been made into a standalone product that can be purchased separately from Zoho Projects.
Zoho Projects offers a number of great features, such as:
- Custom workflows
- Business rules that automatically change the severity / status of bugs
- Custom fields
- Custom views
- Exporting to spreadsheets
- Centralized document management
- Attach file from desktop / Zoho docs, or even Google Docs
- File / document version tracking
- Activity / update stream
- Integrated forums
These are a few of features, but one great feature is still to come, GitHub integration. With this feature one will be able to link a GitHub project to their Zoho BugTracker account, and each code check-in can be associated with a bug id.
Zoho BugTracker is available in multiple packages, starting at $40 a month for the express edition. More information about pricing here. Free trials are available for those who want to try the service out.
