YouTube to let you create GIFs from videos
HIGHLIGHTS

Like memes? Well, YouTube now makes it easier for creating GIFs through videos.

YouTube is testing a new tool that allows users to create GIFs from videos. The tool is being tested on the PBS Idea Channel's page.

To create GIF, users need to simply click the share button, drag a trim selector to choose the part of the video they want convert into a GIF. Maximum length for YouTube's automatic GIF is six seconds. It also allows users to add text to the top and bottom of the GIF. YouTube GIFs can be currently shared via link, embed and social networking sites.

YouTube's GIF feature hasn't been rolled out globally yet, but we expect to be available soon. It's worth pointing out that GIFs are quite popular on the Internet. With addition of YouTube support, we are likely to see more GIFs flooding the Internet.

YouTube's new feature comes shortly after it launched Offline feature in select Asian countries including India. Offline feature, as expected, lets you to watch videos on YouTube offline.
