You can now use Apple Intelligence on iPhone in India: Here is how

Ahead of iPhone 16 launch, Apple has now officially released iOS 18.1 developer beta version.

This is the first OS version with Apple Intelligence in India.

This version is compatible only with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple is gearing up for Sept 9. All the last-minute formalities are being taken care of by the Cupertino-based tech giant as it prepares for its “Glowtime” event. Along with the iPhone 16 series, the company will also unveil iOS 18. Ahead of that, it has now officially released iOS 18.1 developer beta version. This is the first OS version with Apple Intelligence in India. Previously, we had the iOS 18 developer beta but Indian users had to select the US region to download it. But now with this iOS 18 version, you just have to download and install it to use Apple Intelligence.

Apple launched the iOS 18.1 developer beta on Monday. This version is available exclusively for registered Apple developers and is compatible only with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. AI or Apple Intelligence as they like to call it was first showcased during WWDC in June. It integrates advanced AI features across iPhones, iPads, and Macs. It includes features like improved Siri, AI-generated emails, image generation, and refined notification management.

How to install iOS 18.1 beta?

If you wish to install the iOS 18.1 beta, then follow these steps:

Firstly, you need to make sure that your device is updated with the iOS 18 beta. Then, go to Settings and click the new “Apple Intelligence & Siri” button to install iOS 18.1 beta.

Also, please note that for this you need to register for a waitlist via Apple’s settings app. You should also create a proper backup in case you need to downgrade.

What do you get with the new iOS 18.1 beta?

iOS 18.1 beta offers the first few Apple Intelligence features as all the features showcased haven’t been released yet. With this new beta update, you get to experience features like
Writing Tools, a revamped Siri, a Reduce Interruption feature, Transcriptions, and an updated Photos UI.

First up, Siri has a new design now. You get glowing lights around the device’s edges and now it seamlessly switches between text and voice interactions.

With the new writing too you can rewrite, proofread, and even summarise text in applications like Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps. You also get a Smart Reply option in Mail which suggests some responses.

The Reduce Interruption feature prioritises urgent notifications, which makes sure you aren’t disturbed too much. Apple has even promised that these features will be further enhanced in the upcoming beta versions and it will gradually roll out more Apple Intelligence features.
