If you’ve ever had trouble pronouncing a particular word or a phrase, well, now you never have to worry about that problem anymore. Google has released a feature that allows users to practice pronouncing tricky words. This new feature is integrated into the Search feature and when you speak into your phone’s microphone, Google will give you the right answer and let you know if you’ve pronounced the word correctly.
Google has said that speech recognition technology is used to break complex and complicated words own into individual syllables which makes it easier for the user to pick up what’s being pronounced. Machine learning also plays an important part in the process as it is used to determine whether the pronunciation of a particular word is correct and gives users syllable-specific feedback. Basically, Google breaks down words into easily understandable soundbites to help you understand what is being pronounced. As of right now, this feature is available in English and a Spanish version will soon be released.
To use the feature, just type “How do you pronounce” followed by the word you want to pronounce. It’s a simple and easy way to learn new words and how to pronounce them. Google has also added visual designs and illustrations to the dictionary terms and words, giving it another level of interactivity.
