You can now double-check Gemini-generated content using Google Search: Here’s how
HIGHLIGHTS

With this new feature, users can double-check any AI-generated content.

It uses Google Search to reach the results.

For this, Google has set up a colour-coded cross-verification system.

AI-generated content has taken over, everywhere, everyone is just using AI to generate content for them. Amidst this flood of AI-generated content, it has become very difficult to flag it and to determine its authenticity. Keeping that in mind, all the major tech companies are trying to come up with solutions for the same. Now, even Google has launched a new feature for its Gemini AI where users can verify the authenticity of AI-generated content.

With this new feature, users can double-check any AI-generated content. It uses Google Search to reach the results. As per the company, “The double-check responses feature helps you assess the credibility of Gemini’s statements using Google Search to find content that’s likely similar or different.”

How does the Double-Check response feature work?

Double-check Gemini content

For this, Google has set up a colour-coded cross-verification system. There are three different colours: green, orange, and no highlight, and each holds a different meaning.

Green Highlight: Indicates that Google Search has found content similar to the AI-generated information and includes a link to it.

Orange Highlight: This indicates that Google did not find relevant content on the web.

No Highlight: As per this, insufficient information on the web was found to evaluate the AI-generated content.

Here’s how you can use this feature:

How to use it?

Double-check Gemini content

Step 1: Type in your prompt in the Gemini AI chatbot.
Step 2: You will find a “double-check response” toggle below the content.
Step 3: Click on it to initiate the verification process.

You will then get a response to your query and you can match it to the colours that I have mentioned above. This seems like a useful feature as more than often chatbots generate some crazy facts and it becomes slightly difficult to verify them. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
