Xiaomi reportedly working on RayBan Meta-like AI glasses: Here’s what we know

According to recent media reports, Xiaomi is currently working on a pair of AI-powered glasses. These can look and work like the popular RayBan Meta glasses. For this, Xiaomi is reportedly collaborating with Apple’s supplier Goertek. As revealed by a report from IT Home, Xiaomi’s smart glasses will feature both camera and audio capabilities. It can also support AI functions.

With the design, it can closely resemble the other glasses that we’ve seen on Meta, Snapchat, and all. It will most likely offer real-time interaction through voice, visuals, and data, leveraging AI to enhance user engagement.

Xiaomi’s move comes at a time when others are also trying to strengthen their position in the AI eyewear market. Meta enhanced its glasses with more AI features. Even Baidu recently launched its Xiaodu AI Glasses. These feature a 16-megapixel camera and a four-microphone array. Baidu’s device is designed to integrate with its language models, allowing users to receive responses to queries directly through the glasses.

Reports further reveal that Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun is particularly ambitious about the product and the company is planning to launch the product by 2025. It is expected that Xiaomi will first launch the device in China, and we don’t know if it will make it to other markets. The company hopes to sell over 3,00,000 units upon launch.

That’s all that we know about these smart glasses for now. Let’s see how and when Xiaomi plans to drop this product in China. Post that it will also be interesting to see if India gets this device or not. The price point is also yet to be disclosed.
