Xiaomi announces Mi Pad 3 and Mi 360 degree panoramic camera
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 features a 7.9-inch retina display and a 6600mAh battery. The Mi 360-degree panoramic camera has a 23.88MP sensor and records video in 3.5K resolution.
Xiaomi has announced Mi Pad 3, the third iteration of its Android tablet in China. While last year's Mi Pad 2 was introduced in both Android and Windows variants, the new Mi Pad 3 comes only running Android.
The Mi Pad 3 features a 7.9-inch retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The 326ppi display supports eye protection mode and offers colour temperature adjustment. The Mi Pad 3 is powered by MediaTek's tablet-centric MT8176 chipset clocked at 2.1GHz. The tablet comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and uses Imagination PowerVR GX6250 GPU.
The tablet has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and supports 1080p video recording. The front camera is a 5MP one with f/2.0 aperture. The tablet supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi display and Wi-Fi Direct. The Xiaomi Mi Pad is backed by a 6600mAh battery and supports fast charging with 10W power output. The tablet is 6.95mm thick, weighs 328 grams and is priced at 1499 Yuan (around Rs 15,000).
Alongside the Mi Pad 3, Xiaomi has also announced the Mi 360 degree camera with dual fisheye lens. The Mi 360 degree panoramic camera features a 23.88MP sensor and is capable of recording videos in 3.5K resolution. The square-shaped Mi Panoramic camera is IP67 water or dust resistant and features a 6-axis electronic image stabilisation. GizmoChina reports that Mi's new Panoramic camera is priced at 1699 Yuan (approximately Rs 17,000) and will go on sale from April 6 on Mi Mall, Lynx, Jingdong and Suning.
