The robot showed great navigation skills and high intelligence as it walked over the uneven and broken pavement of the Great Wall of China, reports The Sun.

The humanoid robot easily walked upstairs and did tai-chi, a Chinese martial art, when it got to the guard towers on the wall. The XBot-L humanoid robot was designed and built by Robot Era.
According to the company, the reinforced learning technology helped the humanoid robot accomplish the great feat.
“Algorithms help to strengthen the robot’s perceptive and decision-making capacity in the face of unfamiliar terrains,” Yue Xi, co-founder of Robot Era, said. “The robot thus can recognise complex road conditions and adjust its walking stance in a timely manner.”
In the video, we can see that the XBot-L robot have duct tape around its midsection, which might be a quick fix by engineers to keep it stable during the climb. This serves as a reminder that even the most advanced technology sometimes needs DIY methods to move from the lab to the real world.
The company seems to aim to normalise the presence of robots in everyday settings by showcasing its latest tech in one of the world’s most iconic spots.
