Apple has announced a significant leadership transition, with Luca Maestri stepping down as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective January 1, 2025. Maestri will shift his focus to leading Apple’s Corporate Services teams, including information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development, all while reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook. Taking over as CFO will be Kevan Parekh, currently Apple’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis.

Who is Kevan Parekh?

Kevan Parekh, an Indian-origin executive, is set to step into the role of CFO, marking a pivotal moment in Apple’s financial leadership. With over a decade of service at Apple, Parekh has been a cornerstone of the company’s finance leadership. His tenure has seen him overseeing Financial Planning and Analysis, G&A and Benefits Finance, Investor Relations, and Market Research. Parekh’s extensive experience at Apple also includes leading Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing Finance, and supporting Apple’s Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering teams.

Before joining Apple, Parekh accumulated significant global experience in senior roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors. Parekh is an electrical engineer with a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, expressed confidence in Parekh’s abilities, describing him as a “perfect choice” for the CFO role due to his deep understanding of the company and his exceptional financial skills.
