Watch the world’s first VR live streaming of a surgery
All you need is a Google Cardboard and an app.
What do you usually watch on your Google Cardboard? Perhaps a movie, or may be that Beatles Abbey Road app, there’s quite a bit of content there. Medical Realities, a group specialising in medical training products, is adding to that. The company is, for the first time ever, going to stream a surgery live on VR. All you need is a Google Cardboard and an app. Medical Realities is going to use a 360 degree camera to stream the operating table. You can use VR headsets other than the Google Cardboard as well.
The surgery is going to be streamed on April 14 and Shafi Ahmed, the founder of Medical Realities and a cancer specialist, is going to treat a tumour in 70-year-old man’s colon. Medical Realities has a countdown times on its website and we're all waiting.
