Waiting for iPad Pro with M5 chip? Here’s when it can launch
HIGHLIGHTS

The next iPad Pro featuring the M5 processor is set to enter mass production in the second half of 2025.

The current M4 iPad Pro models were launched in May 2024, making a fall 2025 release for the M5 versions highly likely.

If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, we can expect a busy fall in 2025.

Apple enthusiasts, brace yourselves. If you’re already enjoying the M4 chip-powered iPad Pro with its OLED display and nano-texture option, you might wonder what’s next. Well, Apple’s next big leap for the iPad Pro is reportedly in the works, and we now have a hint about when to expect the M5-powered upgrade.

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently shared some exciting details about the next iPad Pro. According to Kuo, the upcoming model featuring the M5 processor is set to enter mass production in the second half of 2025.

Kuo mentioned this in a Medium post: “The iPad Pro equipped with the M5 processor is expected to enter mass production in 2H25. The company’s business momentum in 2H25 is anticipated to benefit significantly from Apple’s new product launches.”

This timeline aligns with Apple’s usual strategy of refreshing the iPad Pro lineup every 18 months, though there have been exceptions. The current M4 iPad Pro models were launched in May 2024, making a fall 2025 release for the M5 versions highly likely.

While details about the M5 iPad Pro are scarce, the inclusion of the M5 chip isn’t a surprise since it’s the natural successor to the M4. However, considering the significant upgrades introduced with the M4 models this year—such as the OLED display and nano-texture option—it’s likely the 2025 models will feature smaller refinements rather than major design overhauls.

If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, we can expect a busy fall in 2025. The iPhones, Apple Watches, and possibly AirPods will likely launch in September, followed by the new iPad Pro and Macs with M5 chips in October or November.

While 2025 might seem far away, Apple fans can already start imagining how the M5 chip will take the iPad Pro’s performance to the next level.
