Vodafone K4201 3G USB dongle launched for Rs. 999

As part of its efforts to tap the data market in India, Vodafone launches a new low-cost 3G dongle along with discounted monthly data plans.

Vodafone has launched a new 3G USB dongle – Vodafone K4201 – in India for Rs. 999 for its postpaid customers. The operator claims the new dongle delivers 21.1 Mbps data transfer speed (Downlink :21.1Mbps and Uplink : 5.76 Mbps).

The Vodafone K4201 also supports storage up to 32GB (via microSD card), can receive and send SMS from the computer, and features phone book functionality. There’s also an option to set alert for data usage in MB or as per time.

The new dongle has a revamped dialer with features such as Web Chat, Help Line number on dash board, Online. There’s a banner that offer updates and troubleshooting guidance for common error codes

As an introductory offer, Vodafone is offering 100 % cash back on the dongle along with new postpaid plans. For cash back offer, Vodafone is offering customers discount of Rs. 100 for monthly rentals of Rs 650, 750 & 850 every month for 12 months. There’s also an advance rental offer under which users can pay rental for 6 months and get 2 months rental free i.e 8 months of usage, on select 3G postpaid rental plans – 650/750/850.

Back in August 2013, Vodafone had launched K3800 3G USB dongle. Launched at Rs. 1,750, Vodafone’s new dongle is said to deliver data transfer speed up to 14.4 Mbps.

The Vodafone K3800 3G USB Dongle supports major Operating Systems such as Window 8, Mac, Linux, Fedora and Ubuntu. For subscribers who want to store the data as well, this dongle comes with microSD card support with expandable storage of up to 32 GB.
