ViewSonic ViewPad 7e to hit India soon, for Rs. 13,000

Updated on 07-Feb-2012

ViewSonic has announced it will be launching its 7-inch Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet, the ViewPad 7e, in India. The device will be priced at Rs. 13,000, however, the company has not provided exact availability details, apart from ‘soon.’

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7e runs on a 1GHz processor, and was first rumoured to land in India back in October last year. Other specifications include 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage (expandable to 32GB via microSD card), Bluetooth / Wi-Fi / microUSB / HDMI connectivity, as well as a 3MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera.

ViewSonic has given the 7-inch display a 4:3 aspect ratio, apparently making it better for using eBooks and apps. The company also decided to toughen up the tablet a bit, with a shatter proof glass display, and a rubberized grip for better grip.
