Verbatim has launched a SATA 3GB/s internal 2.5-inch SSD, with 64GB starting from Rs. 5,500, and featuring 3-year limited warranty. A 128GB version will also be available.
The Verbatim SATA II SSD is capable of reading up to 270MB/sec. Other features include a MTBF rating of 1,000,000 hours, and shock rating of 1,500G. The package will include a 3.5-inch drive bay adapter plate and power cable for optional desktop installations.
Verbatim promises low power consumption with the SSD, for improved laptop battery-life performance. It also has Windows 7 TRIM support. Ramesh Tuli, Country Manager, Verbatim India, spoke on the launch of the SSD series in India:
