Toshiba reportedly working on a 13.3-inch quad-core ICS tablet
Toshiba is reportedly working on a 13.3-inch Android tablet, which is being touted as the world’s largest tablet PC. Though very little information is available on the web, but reports suggest the Toshiba tablet will be powered by a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The device is likely to come with a HD ready resolution, like the one in Apple’s latest New iPad. Also, the Toshiba 13.3-inch tablet runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Pocket-link, which has also posted multiple images of the prototype tablet, says the device has plenty of room for connectivity as it has USB, HDMI and SD card ports and slots. The tablet has rear and frontal cameras along with a black plate design, very much similar to Toshiba’s 7.7-inch sibling. Toshiba recently heated up the tablet market with the launch of Toshiba Excite X10, which is also touted as the lightest and slimmest 10-inch tablet in the market.
The site further quotes a Toshiba spokesperson as saying that the future of the 13.3-inch tablet depends on consumer reaction. The spokesperson, however, did not divulge more information about the tablet. It’s not clear whether Toshiba will ever materialise the concept of 13.3-inch tablet or not. To know that, we may have to wait till end of this year as a lot manufacturers are slated to launch their tablets in the meantime.
