HIGHLIGHTS
The interactive video set to Dylan's classic "Like a Rolling Stone" works exactly like a TV and has to be seen to be believed.
There are certain times when even the most amazing things on the Internet fail to elicit a response beyond ‘meh’. This is not one of those things. This amazing (substitute that with any other adjective from the thesaurus- wondrous, mind-blowing, phenomenal, brilliant) interactive video will surely make you want to clap and whistle. It’s that well done.
The song in question is Bob Dylan’s classic ‘Like a Rolling Stone’, from the 1965 album ‘Highway 61 Revisited’. The video emulates the way a TV works with a bunch of different channels that you can browse using the ‘up’ and ‘down’ arrow keys on your keyboard. The killer aspect is that every single channel will keep in sync with the song so that even when you jump between, say the History Channel and ESPN, the person on camera will be lip-syncing to the song. That’s the best I describe it with words. To believe it, watch the video below:
The video was made by Interlude, in collaboration with Pulse Films and Walter Pictures and directed by Vania Heymann. It comes just in time to celebrate the release of The Complete Album Collection Volume 1, a 47-CD box set of Bob Dylan’s music.
In a day that included the sad news of Winamp shutting down, this is a great way for music fans to get cheered up. So, go on, watch the video again.
