Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, already father to over 100 children, offers free IVF to women using his sperm
A Russia-based IVF clinic, AltraVita IVF recently announced a really unique offer for women seeking IVF.
The clinic said they could undergo the expensive procedure for free, but people would have to choose Durov’s sperm.
Durov is willing to cover the IVF charges of women up to the age of 37 who use his donor sperm.
Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, has been in the news for the past few months over his arrest and investigation by the French authorities. This time, he is making headlines for something different- IVF procedures! A Russia-based IVF clinic, AltraVita IVF recently announced a really unique offer for women seeking IVF. The clinic said that they could undergo the expensive procedure for free, but the catch is that they would have to choose Durov’s sperm. Feels weird to even write this.
Anyway, Durov is willing to cover the IVF charges of women up to the age of 37 who use his donor sperm. And this is not the first time Durov has done something like this. He has already fathered over 100 children across 12 countries through similar donations. AltraVita clinic has the exclusive rights to his sperm. If someone is interested in this program, then they can submit their applications to the AltraVita clinic directly. There are only limited slots for this.
With IVF typically costing thousands of dollars, the offer has the potential to be financially appealing for those seeking affordable fertility treatments.
The IVF clinic is also promoting this and calling out potential patients. The ad for this reads, “Free IVF with Pavel Durov’s donated sperm”. The clinic even calls it a “unique opportunity”.
In the past, we have seen reports where Durov has shared his long-term vision to “open-source” his DNA. He wants to do this to allow his offspring to connect with him in the future. The issue here is that this isn’t as easy as it looks like. Despite being the CEO of a leading messaging platform, he has a controversial background behind him. In the past, he has even faced criticism over the use of his platform for illicit activities.
