MTV and Swipe Telecom have teamed up to launch a new Android tablet. Called the MTV Slate, the new tablet runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by 1.2GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor. The MTV Slate is up for pre-orders on Swipe e-store as well as other online portals such as Flipkart, Snapdeal, Infibeam, Homeshop 18 and eBay for a price of Rs. 14,999. As a special inaugural offer, the company is offering a free business cover worth Rs. 2,500.
The MTV Slate features a 7.85-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and expandable storage up to 32GB. For connectivity, the tablet supports SIM slot, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The Slate is powered by a 3,200mAh battery.

Swipe and MTV have previously launched quite a few devices such as the MTV Slash, MTV Volt 1000 and MTV Volt. The MTV Slash is a 7-inch Android tablet featuring dual-core processor, 3G and 1GB of RAM. The device is priced at Rs. 9,490 and is available on all major online retail stores.
