We’ll have to wait for only a year and a half between the next two movies in Disney’s new Star Wars trilogy, with the dates for Episode IX being set for May 24, 2019. For the uninitiated, the company started the trilogy with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and the trailer for its next movie, The Last Jedi, had been released just a few days ago. Disney’s being separating its Star Wars releases by a year, following The Force Awakens with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. After this year’s Episode XIII (The Last Jedi) release, there’s a Han Solo origin story scheduled for 2018, but Episode 9 will come only about half a year after that.
If you haven’t watched it yet, here’s the trailer for Episode XIII: The Last Jedi.
Along with the revived Star Wars series, Disney also announced release dates for some of its other upcoming movies. This includes an Indiana Jones movie, that has been pushed back by a year. It now releases on July 20, 2020, making way for the live action feature of Lion King, which will release on July 19, 2019.
