Sony has announced that the PlayStation VR headset will be launched in October this year and will be priced at $399, which is about Rs. 26,900. The company also revealed all of the contents of the device’s retail package. The headset is compatible with the PlayStation 4 and uses DualShock 4 or PlayStation Move for controls.
Sony says that it has over 230 developers creating content for PlayStation VR ranging from independent teams to large developers and hopes to have more than 50 games available when the headset is launched in October. In addition, the company has announced that the PlayRoom VR will be available as a free download during launch and will include six games.
The Sony PlayStation VR is equipped with a 5.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (960 x 1080 pixels resolution for each eye). It offers a field view of about 100 degrees and has nine LED trackers that allow for 360 degree tracking.
