McGuire stated that the Snapdragon X series platforms are built upon years of expertise in designing various computing components across the central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU) and NPU.

“Now, harnessing our next-generation custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU, a quantum leap forward in performance and power efficiency will anchor Snapdragon X and — when combined with our NPU — will deliver accelerated on-device user experiences for the new era of generative AI,” McGuire explained.

The “X” in the name makes it clear that this is for computers, not other stuff with Snapdragon in their names. Also, the simplified tiering structure will make it easier for people to understand what each platform can do, from regular to premium.

Qualcomm is giving the Snapdragon X series a fresh look with new logos and badges. This new design system will be introduced with the first Snapdragon X platform launch. It’ll have the famous Snapdragon fireball, but with a modern twist. It will be bold, colourful, clean, and very unique.

“We can’t wait to share more about how we are revolutionizing the PC during Snapdragon Summit,” McGuire said.
