Second gen Nexus 7 now available to Indian consumers via eBay
Customers in India who would like to get their hands on the new second gen Nexus 7 can do so using eBay.
The Second generation Nexus 7 looks to be quite an attractive tablet with the specifications and features on offer. Not to mention the fact that the tablet runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean straight out of the box. The Nexus 7 will be available in three variants starting July 30 in the US. The 16GB Wi-Fi only is priced at $229, the 32GB Wi-Fi only model is priced at $269 and the 32GB 4G-LTE version will cost $349. At the launch event there was no mention about the India launch date or price of the tablet.
If you are someone who is impatient to get your hands on a new Nexus 7, you don’t need to wait for the tablet to be officially launched in India. Users can now purchase the 16GB Wi-Fi only variant from ebay.in for Rs. 19,000. Now, the Wi-Fi only 16GB model is available for $229 plus taxes, which translates into Rs. 15,500 approx. The device is available through eBay.in for a premium of Rs. 3500 approx.
The eBay seller, Tab India, got in touch with us and shared details about a Rs. 1,500 discount available for consumers who wish to procure the second gen Nexus 7. Consumers can make a bank deposit or online transfer for the money. Those interested can send an email at tabindiahelp@gmail.com for details about availing the discount.
Through the eBay seller, Tab India, the Nexus 7 will reach customers in the first week of August and will come with a one-year global warranty.
For those that want to wait for the second gen Nexus 7 to launch officially in India, you also need not wait long. Google’s official India Nexus page lists the tablet as ‘Coming Soon‘ but there is no mention of a concrete release date or price for the tablet.
The new Nexus 7 is manufactured by Asus for Google. The 7-inch display of the tablet has a 1920×1200 pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 323ppi. The device comes in 16GB and 32GB storage variants but there is no storage expansion option available. The Nexus 7 has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 1.2MP front facing camera for video chats.
Under the hood, the Nexus 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor, coupled with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The battery capacity of the tablet hasn’t been revealed but Google claims 9 hours of HD video playback and 10 hours of web browsing on the tablet. If you are one who enjoys gaming on your tablet, then you are in luck as the device supports OpenGL ES 3.0.
[UPDATE]: We have just received information that the 32GB Wi-Fi only version of the Nexus 7 has been added to eBay India. The device is priced at Rs. 22,000 and customers can expect to receive the device in the first week of August.
