SEBI has launched SEVA – an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based conversation platform for investors.

If an investor uses this tool, they can get comprehensive information on various processes.

You can even get SEBI contact details, and provide feedback on the chatbot’s performance.

As people are getting financially aware, they plan on investing more. A lot of people are still new to the process and end up taking the wrong steps. To cater to investor protection, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has unveiled SEBI’s Virtual Assistant (SEVA). This is an advanced AI-enabled chatbot that can answer all the investor queries.

If an investor uses this tool, they can get comprehensive information on various processes. and facilitate prompt responses to their questions. In a recent statement, SEBI said, “In line with its mandate of investor protection, SEBI has launched SEBI’s Virtual Assistant (SEVA)–an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based conversation platform for investors.”

With this new chatbot, we might get to see improved investor engagement and transparency in the securities market.

What can SEVA do?

The beta version of SEVA is currently available. It allows for citations for generated responses, allows follow-up questions, and supports both speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionalities. SEVA can provide answers to general information about the securities market, the latest master circulars, and the grievance redressal process.

How to use it?

In the main menu of the chatbot, you can see options where you can inquire about the securities market, find SEBI’s complaint redressal platform (SCORES), and employee details. You can even get SEBI contact details, and provide feedback on the chatbot’s performance.

The statement further informs, “The Beta version of the chatbot includes features like citations for generated response, speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionality for accessibility, follow-up questions, etc.” In the future, SEBI plans to expand the chatbot’s capabilities too.

If you wish to use the beta version of SEVA, it is available on SEBI’s official website (https://investor.sebi.gov.in/) and the SAARTHI mobile app. It is available for both Android and iOS platforms.
